Dig Your Feet into the Beaches of Atlantic Canada

Singing Sands BeachNothing beats a day at an Atlantic Canada beach. Warm sand, blue rolling waters, bright sun and slight breeze make for a perfectly relaxing day to be enjoyed in many ways. The beaches of Atlantic Canada range from rugged beauty to white sand. Beachcomb, surf, kiteboard, kayak or grab a novel, some sunglasses and a blanket and catch some rays. Bring your own picnic or watch the sun set and point out the emerging constellations. There really are an endless amount of activities, or if you choose, no activity at all of our beaches.

In Prince Edward Island be sure to visit the Singing Sands Beach in Basin Head. The quartz sand will sing beneath your feet, creating an eerie and awe-inspiring experience as you stroll down the 8 kilometres (4.9 miles) of one of Atlantic Canada’s natural wonders.

Surfing Atlantic Canada Beaches

Wanna catch some waves? Let's go surfing! Who knew you could surf in Canada? While we may look a little weird in our thick wetsuits we certainly know how to boogie on a board. Martinique Beach in
Nova Scotia, about an hour east of Halifax, is home to both a bird sanctuary and a great place to watch surfers or even try it out yourself! Lawrencetown Beach and Ingonish Beach are also great surf locations, conditions permitting. Parlee Beach is a definite highlight when visiting the Atlantic Maritime province of New Brunswick. This white sandy beach is known to have some of the warmest waters north of Virginia and features an amphitheatre, canteen, showers and washrooms. It’s an excellent beach for swimming, beach volleyball and people watching.
