Woody Island Resort offers a truly unique all-inclusive family vacation or group retreat.
Situated on Woody Island in Placentia Bay, this quiet outport community, which once boasted a population of 400, is one of hundreds of fishing villages from which people were relocated under the government resettlement program in the 1960's. Today Woody Island is home to mainly summer visitors.
Woody Island Resort is a 40-minute boat ride from Garden Cove through a narrow sheltered inlet,nestled between the hills of Sound island on one side and the Burin Peninsula on the other. This sheltered inlet is less than a half mile wide, and as the route to Woody Island is only a couple of hundred feet from shore all the way, there are no worries of encountering rough waters. Have your cameras ready as bald eagles often nest on Sound Island and you may capture a picture of a mated pair.
Woody Island has four lodges with a total of 30 bedrooms. Each lodge has a patio which overlooks the harbour. The majority of these rooms have private baths with a few that are shared.
This two-day/one-night package includes transportation from Garden Cove to Woody Island, overnight accommodations based on double occupancy, all meals, boat tour with a beach picnic on day two, whale watching, Newfoundland Kitchen Party with live entertainment, use of rowboats, and numerous other outport delights.
There are also some pay-per-use activities including guided kayaking tours, wagon rides and small boat rides.

Rates are per person, based on double occupancy. In cases of a single guest in a private room, there will be a single supplement of $25+tax added to the room rate, to be collected upon arrival. Single occupancy is based on availability.
Occupancy:
Included in the published rate is 1 adults. (Maximum occupancy - 11 guests). Of the extra guests 10 may be an adult.
Cancellations:
If someone in your party has to cancel due to some unfortunate unforeseen circumstances, there are several ways in which your loss can be reduced or eliminated: (1) You can purchase travel insurance at the time of booking from a local travel agency; (2) You may be able to find a replacement for the person who has to cancel. (3) We may be able to find a replacement for the person who has to cancel; (4) Many credit card companies offer cancellation insurance if you purchase your tickets using these credit cards; (5) If none of the above can be availed of, we will issue a STANDBY PASS, which you may use at a future date at our mutual convenience.
Administration policy on refunds: This site's administration policy on refunds: 10% of the total paid+ $3.00 booking fee is non-refundable. Refunds on remaining balance to be negotiated directly w/property owner subject to their policy.
