This newly updated lodge has the ocean and lush gardens as a stunning backdrop, with a wraparound deck to take it all in.
The lodge features 6 luxury guest rooms, all tastefully decorated with deluxe queen size beds, premium bedding and private bathrooms. Guest will enjoy complimentary wireless internet access throughout the facility as well as cable television and air conditioning in all guest rooms.

In addition to our fine dining area, the banquet room is equipped with a dance floor, fireplace, and bar. This area will seat 100 people. Total indoor seating will accommodate 200 people, making the Lodge the perfect spot for weddings and rehearsals, retirement parties, family reunions, and all other special occasions. There is also a wrap around veranda for additional seating.
The Argyler’s spacious lawn and outside grounds provide for outdoor celebrations, clambakes, low country boils, fish boils and paella parties.
Things to do:
At our oceanfront Lodge, you will find a wide variety of things to do. Everything from mountain bike and sea kayak rentals to boat cruises and sail boating can all be arranged. Or, spend some time hiking or checking out the local birds and other wildlife. At night, head down to the beach to enjoy a relaxing ocean-side bonfire.
Moorings immediately in front of the lodge and row boats, horseshoes and croquet are all available for your enjoyment.
Local Attractions:
The lodge overlooks more than 300 Islands in Lobster Bay, an adventure awaits, explore them all! Enjoy access to a private 30 acre island to picnic and explore. Take in one of the many Festivals or spend a day antiquing in the local villages and shops. Explore the Lighthouses on the Lighthouse Route, phenomenal beaches, rivers and lakes all within an easy drive. Golfers will delight that West Pubnico Golf Course (18 hole) is just 5 minutes away from the Lodge so be sure to book your tee time!
Before you head out, let us prepare a picnic basket lunch for your day trip to Halifax, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Annapolis Royal, Barrington or any of the other easy day trips from our location!
Getting There:
FROM YARMOUTH, take Highway 103 to Exit 32, "The Argyles". (Not Exit 32A, which occurs 300 meters before Exit 32) Exit 32 is a left hand turn off Highway 103. After you have made this left onto Old Lighthouse Route 3, you will see our sign and be reassured that you are on the right track to our beautiful Waterfront Country Inn. Follow Old Lighthouse Route 3 approximately 7.5 kilometres to the village of Lower Argyle. Turn right onto Ye Olde Argyler Road at our sign.
FROM HALIFAX, take Highway 103 for about 3 hours to the Pubnico Exit 31, which is the town next to Lower Argyle. From Exit 31, take Old Lighthouse Route 3 (which makes a sharp right 500 meters from the Petro station) and go approximately 7 kilometres through Lower Argyle until you see our sign on the left, just past the Lobster Bay Museum and Gallery. Take this left onto Ye Olde Argyler Road at our sign.
If you've driven downeast through Maine, you can continue your drive from Calais, Maine, through New Brunswick and all the way around the Bay of Fundy to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. The driving time is approximately 9 hours.
In ST. JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK, (an hour-and-a-half drive from Calais, Maine) another travel option is to take the 3-hour car ferry, the Princess of Acadia. It will bring you to the Port of Digby, Nova Scotia.
FROM DIGBY, take Highway 101 to Yarmouth, then Highway 103 to Exit 32 and drive 7.5 kilometres to us in Lower Argyle.The driving time from Digby to Ye Olde Argyler Lodge is about 2 hours to 1 ½ hours.
Transportation to/from ferries and airports can also be arranged.
