We are just minutes from downtown Charlottetown, are central to all attractions, close to world-class golf courses, the airport, Charlottetown Driving Park, theatre, and restaurants. The National Park beaches are only minutes away.

While at Little York Bed and Breakfast, you will start your day with a full homemade breakfast followed by your exploration of the island. It would be our pleasure to assist you with your vacation plans while here on Prince Edward Island. There are many island destinations that would make great “Day Trips”. Also, we can provide (at an additional charge) picnic lunches for your day trips as well as dinner so that once you return “Home” from your day’s adventures you can relax at Little York Bed & Breakfast,.

Upon your return, you may choose to curl up in the guest lounge and read a book, pick a spot outside to lounge or perhaps sit under the cherry tree near the raspberry patch. Enjoy an afternoon sweet treat from our kitchen at your leisure. In the evening and with Charlottetown just minutes away; visit one of the many restaurants offering a taste of the island or perhaps take in a live theatre presentation. At the end of your day cozy up to the backyard fire pit, gather in any of the seating areas around the property, come inside and play a game of cards or simply relax.

Reception Information:

Upon arrival at Little York Bed & Breakfast you will be greeted at the front door with parking spots just outside the door. Once you sign-in you will be given a short tour of the house, introduced to our "Tea Station" which has a large selection of complimentary teas and freshly baked cookies. You will also receive a set of keys, one key to your private guestroom and the other to the front door of the B&B so that you can come and go at your leisure.

Business Facilities:

We do have a desk top computer available for our guests who wish to check their e-mails. There is also a laser printer if needed. We do have a fax machine so that we can send a fax on your behalf and a scanner to make a copy or two.

We offer off-street complimentary parking as well as bike storage

Things to do:

After your island excursion…return "Home" to Little York Bed & Breakfast...when in season, stroll to the back of the property and pick raspberries and apples or stand under the old cherry tree and pluck succulent sour cherries or just relax and enjoy our rural setting. In the evening, sit outdoors and relax while enjoying some of the country’s most beautiful rural sunsets, then cozy up to the fire pit and roast your marshmallows…later, sit back and gaze at the stars…a different view of the gentle island.

Breakfasts are special at Little York Bed & Breakfast. Start your day with the aroma of fresh baking and freshly brewed coffee. Come downstairs to our morning sun filled dining room and sip a cup while watching the pastoral setting, reading the local paper or planning your day. Then, savor the flavor of a homemade breakfast. Your full breakfast will consist of juice, fresh fruit, cereal, a hot breakfast entrée, freshly baked breakfast pastries and homemade jams, all from Robert’s grandmother’s recipes.

Local Attractions:

FYI…when looking at the map of Prince Edward Island the distances can be misleading…the distances are shorter then you may think. We are central to most Island attractions which will work well to use Little York Bed & Breakfast as a “Home Base”. We are located on Route #25 which is a main road. We are a twelve (12) minute drive to Charlottetown, a 10 minute drive from the airport, 10 to 15 minute drive to the beaches, 25 minute drive to Cavendish, home of Shining Waters family theme park and Anne of Green Gables, 45 minute drive to Summerside and one hour drive to Souris on the East end where you will find Greenwich National Park in St. Peter’s on your way to the East Point Lighthouse. This sampling of four destinations would make great “Day Trips”.

Getting There:

Directions from Woods Island to York, Prince Edward Island.

After leaving the ferry follow the signs to Charlottetown on Highway # 1, the Trans-Canada. This will take about 40 minutes. Once you cross the Hillsborough Bridge from Stratford to Charlottetown you will turn right at the intersection…turning on to Riverside Drive. Follow that road to the intersection of Highway #2…turning right onto Highway #2. You will see a KFC on your right. Follow that road, Route #2 until you see Jewell’s Country Market…with the Red Roof on your left. That will be the intersection of Route #25 which is the York Rd. Turn left onto the York Rd, Route #25 and follow for 3 KM. We are the tall pale blue house on the left…775 York Road.

Directions from the Confederation Bridge to York, Prince Edward Island.

After leaving the Confederation Bridge follow the TransCanada Highway #1 east to Charlottetown. After leaving the town of Cornwall and just before you enter Charlottetown you will pass a rustic set of Factory Outlet stores on your left. Shortly after the stores at the next set of lights turn left. Then at about a ½ KM turn right onto the Arterial Highway that by-passes Charlottetown. At the fourth set of lights you will turn left onto Highway #2 heading towards to Souris. You will see a KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) on your right. Follow that road, Route #2 until you see Jewell’s Country Market…with the Red Roof on your left. That will be the intersection of Route #25 which is the York Rd. Turn left onto the York Rd, Route #25 and follow for 3 KM. We are the tall pale blue house on the left…775 York Road.

Directions from the Charlottetown Airport to York, Prince Edward Island.

After leaving the Charlottetown Airport, turn left onto highway #15. Turning left again at the next set of lights. You will be turning onto the Arterial Highway that by-passes Charlottetown. At the next set of lights you will turn left onto Highway #2 heading towards to Souris. You will see a KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) on your right. Follow that road about 3 KM, Route #2 until you see Jewell’s Country Market…with the Red Roof on your left. That will be the intersection of Route #25 which is the York Rd. Directions from downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

These directions start from the Visitor Information Centre (VIC), located in Founders Hall on the corner of Water and Prince Street. This area is adjacent to the Confederation Park, Peaks Quay, Charlottetown waterfront and minutes from the Delta Hotel. As you leave the VIC turning right on to Water Street, heading west, you will come to a large intersection ( Hillsborough Bridge to your right) …continue straight through on to Riverside Drive. Follow that road to the intersection of Highway #2…turning right onto Highway #2. You will see a KFC on your right. Follow that road, Route #2 until you see Jewell’s Country Market…with the Red Roof on your left. That will be the intersection of Route #25 which is the York Rd. Turn left onto the York Rd, Route #25 and follow for 3 KM. We are the tall pale blue house on the left…775 York Road.
